What are Alupanel Panels?

Alupanel is an insulated aluminium sandwich panel designed for low-rise domestic or trade applications. It features a Ravatherm XPS X extruded polystyrene core, faced on both sides with 1mm polyester powder-coated aluminium. Lightweight, rigid, and weather-resistant, Alupanel is ideal for window infill and similar uses.

Fire Classification

  • The Nexus stone wool core and calcium silicate edging (Type 2a) are made from Fireclass A1 materials
  • Classification covers aluminium skin thicknesses of 1.5mm, 2.0mm, and 3.0mm

Both Type 2 and 2A panels are tested to EN 13501-1:2018 by Efectis France and achieve a Euroclass A2-s1 d0 fire rating.

Aluglaze FR panels are independently tested and classified to A2-s1,d0 under EN 13501-1:2018, confirming their suitability for use in buildings requiring non-combustible materials.
Testing was carried out by Efectis France, covering:

  • EN ISO 1716 – Assessed the calorific value of individual panel components
  • EN 13823 (SBI Test) – Measured smoke production, heat release, and flame spread in corner exposure

The panels are fully compliant with UK Building Regulations for use in curtain wall infill panels, and comply with necessary quality standards.

Our range of Non-Combustible architectural panels includes three types of A2- s1,d0 Non-combustible insulated panels for glazing and curtain walling applications. Each panel contains a Nexus Lamella Core with the following variations:

  • Type 2 with a powder coated finish and standard edge detail
  • Type 2a with a powder coated finish and high density edge for demanding applications
